KidZone Mission Statement:

Becoming a community where volunteers support God’s work in children’s lives by teaching and encouraging them to live out the unique way God has designed them, trust Jesus with all their lives, and step out to love others with the truth of the Bible through the power of the Holy Spirit.

KidZone Core Values:

Values are filters that guide decisions and behaviors. They state what is important to the team as ministry is done. Values tell how or in what manner leaders work to achieve the mission. We believe in incorporating our values into every detail of our preparation and execution during the service and our every day interactions with each other.

1. We believe each and every child is a gift from God.

“And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” Matthew 18:5

 2. We believe it is important to provide a child-centered environment.

“See that you do not look down on one of these little ones.” Matthew 18:10

3. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and should be taught and applied in a manner that is relevant to the child. (Proverbs 22:6)

“The whole Bible is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16

“We teach the truth plainly, showing everyone who we are.” 2 Corinthians 4:2b

4. We believe authentic Biblical community is to be modeled and emulated by staff and children. (2 Peter 3:18, 1 Thessalonians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 12:25b, Acts 2:4-47)

“Love each other like brothers and sisters. Give each other more honor than you want for yourselves.” Romans 12:10

“Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24

5. We believe children’s ministry should be fun, creative, and implemented with excellence. (Philippians 4:4)

“I have told you these things so that you can have the same joy I have and so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy.” John 15:11

“In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people.” Colossians 3:23

6. We believe parental partnership is essential to the success of children’s ministry. (Titus 2:1-6)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Always remember these commands I give you today. Teach them to your children, and talk about them when you sit at home and walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:57

7. We believe equipping and empowering adult and student staff  is necessary to teach children. (Acts 6:1-6, Exodus 18:17-23)

“…to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…” Ephesians 4:12

8. We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in every believer and that spiritual gifts can and do operate through children.  Children can and do minister to each other and to adults.

“People were bringing  little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.  He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ (Mark 10:13-15)
