We strive to provide a comfortable and relaxed environment on Sunday mornings so that we can all come as we are and be ourselves as we engage with each other and with God.
When you first arrive, you will be greeted by one of our members at the door, who will provide you with a bulletin of the morning’s service and upcoming events. Our café opens at 9:45am (in the Community Room) and offers complimentary beverages, bagels and donuts. This is a time to meet and talk with old and new friends before the service begins at 10am. Feel free to bring your bagel and coffee with you into the sanctuary when the service starts.
We start with a couple worship songs; our music is contemporary, and
the words are projected on a screen overhead, so everyone can follow along. Next, there will be a few announcements about upcoming classes and events. We’ll pray for and collect the offering, to which visitors should not feel compelled to give; you’re our guest! After that, there will be a message that is Bible-based and that addresses real-life issues we each face every day.
We close our services with a few more worship songs and an opportunity for anyone to receive prayer from our Prayer Ministry team.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know what's going on?
We strive to make our community and our services as inviting and accessible as we can. We also have great greeters to answer any questions you may have. The bulletin also outlines the order of the service and what to expect.
Will I be put on the spot ? “Hey… there’s the new person!”
We understand most people appreciate being welcomed but don’t want to be put on the spot. So don’t worry; we won’t stick a nametag on you or make you stand up and say anything.
Will my kids like it and be well cared for?
We love kids, and we will provide a safe and loving environment for them. All of our children's workers love kids, are known and released to work with the kids through our leadership, and must pass a background check. (see Kids link for more details).
Will they ask me for money?
We do take an offering, but it is only for those who are committed to our church. As our guest, you should feel no pressure to give to the offering.
How should I dress?
However you feel comfortable. In general, we’re casual (jeans and T-shirt are fine), but others dress up as well.
What if I’m not a Christian, believe differently, or am trying to figure out what I believe?
We have many people in all of these categories, who are checking us out. We would never want you to pretend to be or believe anything. We want our church to be a place where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves, to investigate Christianity, and to worship God freely.
What's the music like?
Our worship time is led by a full band, and the lyrics are projected overhead, so even if you can’t carry a tune or aren’t familiar with the songs, you can blend right in with the congregation.
